JPL's DARTS Lab provides several multi-mission space system simulation tools for the closed-loop development and testing of flight algorithms and software. This toolkit can be used in workstation environments as well as in real-time, hardware-in-the-loop simulations for the testing and verification of flight software and hardware.

Tools:

A high performance computational engine for flexible multibody dynamics.Winner of 1997 NASA Software Award
    A multi-mission simulation framework for real-time, hardware-in-the-loop spacecraft simulations.
A Dshell based planetary rover simulator for surface exploration.
A Dshell based simulator for entry, descent and landing (EDL) scenarios.
A software toolkit for planetary terrain environment models.
A DARTS based package for internal coordinates molecular dyanmics simulations.
    A 3D graphics tool for real-time, closed-loop simulation visualization.
A software development toolkit for the concurrent development of reusable software.

Research:

The Spatial Operator Algebra (SOA) is a computational multibody dynamics framework for the mathematical study and analysis of rigid and flexible multibody systems.
Publications on the Darts Lab simulation tools and the Spatial Operator Algebra (SOA).
